This week our daughter Erika made several offers on what she was hoping would be her first home.
I’ve shared a few things here and there, but in a nutshell, after I had a pretty rough round of health scares over the last 18 months, Erika decided she wanted to live closer to me.
Her job had gone completely virtual during the Pandemic, so when I relocated to Austin, it felt like a good time for her to move out of Los Angeles and to join me in Texas.
Suffice it to say, we were not alone in choosing to relocate to this vibrant area. Texas is the fastest growing state in the US.
Since she got here, we’ve been looking for her first home and each time we find a match, she’s lost the purchase to another party who has a higher bid.
After we received another disappointing phone call on Wednesday night, she said “Mom, maybe I need to take a step back”
I fully agreed and we spent a few minutes going over all that she had learned over the last few months.
She now has great insights on what she really wants, what she won’t settle for, and what her long term goals are.
She’s also feeling much clearer on what she can comfortably afford and what feels like a stretch.
For this Friday’s message, I have a video for you that has some great parallels between Erika’s journey and where you may be with your own journey.
Every time we stretch and grow, we have an opportunity to experience growing pleasures
It’s only when we take on new things and expand, that we really learn what we want and what we are capable of.
Over the last 30+ years, I’ve owned 9 companies.
I’ve sold 6 of them.
Not because I didn’t love the businesses. Not because they weren’t successful. It was simply time for me to move on to my next adventure.
Each year, I host an intimate retreat where I share the key distinctions for how you can know when its time for you to move on to your next adventure.
It’s called the Elevate Retreat and it’s coming up at the end of July in Asheville, NC.
If you’re in a place where you’re feeling a calling to move into a new season with your business and your life, we should talk.
Let’s jump on a call and feel into whether you should join me for a few days to gain clarity on where you’re going and how to best get there in a way that supports everything you’ve built so far.
In order for you to sell or to exit your business (if that’s what is in your heart), you’ll need to have your company run by a Rock Star Team.
Building that team is an art and a science.
I’m sending you a link that will take you to a series of short videos I created for you, so you’ll know when to hire, how to hire, and what to do if your new hire isn’t a match.
If you’d like to set up a call with me, simply hit reply to this email and send me a quick message. I’ll send you a direct link to my calendar so we can set up a time to chat.
If you already know you’re ready to join us in Asheville next month for this year’s Elevate Retreat, you may register here now.
Here’s the link to the video series on How to Build a Rock Star Team, that pays for itself, makes you money and provides you with freedom.
Be well this week and keep me posted if I can support you in any way.
Sending my Best,
